About
Us We come from all over San Diego, from Clairemont to Coronado, from El Cajon to Point Loma, to make up this Household of Faith. Some of Us live as close as Mission Hills or the Westminster Manor, which is right across the street, and some of us live as far away as Poway and Bonita. We are a regional, urban church with a heart for God and a desire to worship well, live obediently, and grow in the faith and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. This Household of Faith takes the Bible seriously. We believe the Bible is God's Word and is fully authoritative and completely reliable from cover to cover. We may not always understand the Bible the way we should, and there is plenty of room for humility in interpretation, but we are also confident that God's Word is clear and straightforward. It is our prayer that we represent Jesus Christ honestly and humbly in a way that is true to God's revelation presented in the Bible.
We are, as you can tell, from all over the map, not only geographically, but spiritually. We cover the range from vintage Presbyterians to rookie Christians, from the newly baptized to the mature in Faith, but we share a common bond in Jesus Christ. FPC is more than meets the eye. Please don't judge us by our appearance. We are counting on you to look below the surface and discover who we are. We hope our services are a help to you in learning more about Christ. We want to be an encouragement to you in expressing your praise in God. We hope you will feel you are among people who desire to take God seriously and joyfully. Our goal is to help people grow in Christ. We never want to lose sight of that calling. If there is anything we can do to encourage you or help you to connect with the FPC church family, please let us know. Please feel free to contact our church office at 619.232.7513 for more information. If you are interested in meeting people and becoming better acquainted with us, please come by the Assembly Room at 9:00 am on Sunday morning or after the second service. We'll have refreshments and plenty of friendly people. Thank you for making the special effort to get to know us. We do pray that what we do as a Household of Faith will strengthen your faith in Christ. First Presbyterian Church |
