PNC Process Timeline

We are on step 7

  8 CELEBRATE!
FPCSD holds an installation service for the new Senior Pastor. Thanks be to God!
7 NOMINATE: Report to Session and the congregation. Schedule a Candidate Sermon Sunday at FPC and hold a Congregational Meeting for a vote. If approved by vote of FPC and Presbytery, proceed to installation.
6 SELECT: Conduct interviews, visit top candidates at their churches (without their congregation knowing) or visit at a neutral location. Follow up on references. Pray, confer with COM, extend a call to one candidate.
5 REVIEW: Prayerfully evaluate each Personal Information Form (PIF) received, as well as available sermons, books, and papers of candidates. Make phone calls for initial interviews.
4 SEARCH: Post the CIF on national Presbytery website, advertise, follow-up on referrals, and network for recommendations. Rely on the Holy Spirit to highlight candidates whom God might be calling.
3 CREATE: Write Church Information Form (CIF) and Mission Study including job description, descriptions of FPC’s congregation, mission, and ministry. Present the CIF and Mission Statement for Session and COM approval.
2 EXPLORE: Produce website and design and distribute survey to Session and Deacons. Listen and consider what God is saying about who we are and whom we are looking for.
